Home Academy Module 19 — The three-strand safety net
Module 19 · Fortress · 8 min

Since nobody can save you, weave your own net.

Sovereignty has a price: nobody can restore a vault nobody can read. Ozorys arms you with a three-strand safety net — so that losing your data would now take real determination.

The rule that changes everything

You grasped it in the previous module: there is no duplicate of your key, anywhere. That's the guarantee of your privacy — and, at the same time, the only rule that truly matters here. A forgotten code with no backup prepared means a vault welded shut forever.

The answer isn't to pick a weak code: it's to weave a net, today. Ozorys offers one with three strands, designed so that no single failure — a lost phone, a broken device, a lapse of memory — costs you your data.

Three minutes, once

Preparing your backup isn't a recurring chore: it's a founding act of a few minutes, to be done early. After that, your net works for you.

Three strands: the device, the file, the cloud

The first strand is local: an encrypted copy stays on your device, always within reach. The second is an encrypted file that you export wherever you like — a disk, a USB stick, a space you trust — and that Ozorys keeps dated: past thirty days, it gently reminds you to refresh it. The third is the Tribu cloud : an encrypted copy, synced, unreadable to us and to anyone else.

Three independent strands, three ways to land on your feet. None of them holds your data in the clear: each is just a sealed block, useless without your key.

Redundancy without the risk

Multiplying copies doesn't multiply the danger: since each copy is encrypted with your key alone, scattering three exposes nothing more than keeping one. You gain the safety of redundancy, without the trade-off.

The master key, on paper

The digital net always assumes a working device. For the last resort, Ozorys offers to print your master key as a QR code — a sheet to keep with your valuable papers, a will, a physical safe. Paper doesn't break down, doesn't update itself and can't be hacked remotely.

It's the last-resort strand, the one that saves you even with no smartphone, even years later. To be treated, literally, like the combination to a real safe: out of sight, never photographed on your phone.

Check, and restore without fear

A backup you can't restore isn't one. So Ozorys checks theintegrity of each copy and answers you clearly: if something is off, a precise failure code tells you what, rather than a vague “error”. You always know where you stand.

The day you change phones, restoring is a non-event: your code unlocks the sealed block, and your vault comes back intact. The next module in this path covers the everyday defences — for when it's no longer breakdowns you fear, but prying eyes.

The right habit

Test your net once, in cold blood: export the encrypted file and check that it reads back. One successful restore under calm conditions is worth every promise.

Let's check it stuck

Six questions, marked instantly. Your answers never leave this page.

1. Why is backing up non-negotiable in Ozorys?

No duplicate key exists: that's the privacy guarantee, and the reason the net is yours to weave.

2. What are the three strands of the net?

Three independent copies, all encrypted: no single failure costs you your data.

3. Multiplying encrypted copies…

Redundancy without the risk: each copy is just a sealed block, useless without the key.

4. After thirty days, regarding the encrypted file, Ozorys…

A freshness check spares you a stale backup on the day you need it.

5. The master key printed as a QR is…

Paper doesn't break down and can't be hacked remotely — keep it with your valuable papers.

6. If a backup is in doubt, Ozorys…

A clear diagnosis beats a vague message: you always know where you stand.

Today's challenge

Weave at least two strands today: switch on the copy on your device, export an encrypted file and store it off your phone. Then work out where to print your QR key. Your vault now has a net.
